Welcome

Ed Gore

Hello and welcome.  My name is Ed, an NCPS accredited counsellor based in Paignton.

I know from personal experience the bravery that it takes to admit that something in your life is too big a challenge to manage yourself, and the level of trust needed to open up to another human being.

Counselling offers a solution through a trusting and confidential process of exploration and reflection, led by you but supported by me and my professional training and experience.

I also know the incredible effect that the counselling process can have, supporting you to turn vulnerability into self-knowledge and empowerment and ultimately changing your life.

As your counsellor I will be using techniques from Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive-Behaviour Therapy and Gestalt therapy, with some mindfulness added in.

We will explore your challenges in my room at the Devon Clinic (pictured), a safe and confidential space within a building designed for mental health professionals.

You will be equipped with counselling tools that you can use in between sessions.

If you are unsure or have a question please get in touch using the contact form and I will get back to you.  I also offer a free 20 minute phone consultation before starting counselling in which we can explore your needs.

Fees

An initial 20 minute phone consultation is free.

Counselling sessions then cost £50 for 60 minutes.  We can arrange these sessions on a weekly, fortnightly basis or at a longer interval.

I offer face-to-face counselling on Tuesdays and Fridays at the Devon Clinic in Paignton, which includes a staffed reception area and rooms designed specifically for counselling.  Online counselling is also available, but I encourage you if possible to choose face-to-face as it is more effective.

Testimonials

"Ed provides a safe and calm environment. He has personal traits which make him an ideal counsellor. He's kind, sensitive and compassionate. He also has a good sense of humour. He listens carefully and remembers well. Ed doesn't impose his views, but gently promotes discussion. I know that whatever I say he won't be judgmental. He's helped me with a devastating bereavement and complex family problems. I have seen many therapists, and counsellors, and rank Ed as one of the best. I can't recommend him highly enough." Vicky

"Ed is respectful, honest, authentic and committed to the working relationship" GC

"Ed is highly competent and takes an ethical approach to practice."  JR
